Album art review: Did Patoranking just share the cover to Three The Album his new studio LP that drops in weeks?

Nigerian dancehall star Patoranking shared an image on social media that got fans talking. Was the cosmic inspired image the cover to Three The Album his third studio LP that drops 28th August?

There is a retro Kill Bill vibe about the album art. The cover depicts a world caught somewhere between dreams, reality and fantasy.

The cover’s warm colors get’s one excited; but only to the extent the dark shades signal mystery and a sense of foreboding allows.

Couple that with the shadowy occupants in the car, three of them, the feeling of adventure is complete. That they are ridding in a fast car talks of thrill, if not escape or arrival on the scene.

We expect a third studio album to be just that: an escape from the tags ‘budding’ and ‘arrival’. It should be an expression of artistic freedom that an established artist can get away with, but crashing to a rookie.

By playing with the elements – fire from the stars, the shooting stars and the backdrop of light from the setting sun – The cover to Three the Album curtain raises what promises to be an out of the world experience.

At least going by the single “Abule” from Three The Album that has been doing the rounds, this LP should introduce us to a new Patoranking. Expect a more grounded sound that’s in touch with his world and roots.
